Much of our work is done through private conversation with people. We have to answer questions and persuade people of right courses of action.
Sin entered the world and man could no longer speak to God or speak in proper ways to one another. Sin distorts our communication.
Good communication takes hard work and conscientious effort. One has to want to communicate well.

- Why do you think the most frequently quoted proverbs concern speech?
- Read through the book of Proverbs and list every proverb that addresses good speech and unhealthy speech. Put these proverbs into general categories, such as “Gentle speech,” “Angry words,” or “Wise speech" versus "Foolish words.” This is a big assignment, but it is worth the effort.
